I’m nearly done with the scans I had from Cees and Miltos, and not quite ready scanning my own remaining ones, so I thought I’ll do a bunch of VHS Wasteland scans next. That leads me to another question: 7. Do you allow other watermarks on the covers? Personally, I am against using watermarks, so obviously I’m not going to add any, but some of the scans on VHS Wasteland already have watermarks on them. Since the huge VHSdb.org watermark will be added anyway, I was wondering if you mind these or not. The tags/watermarks I have seen most often are from Scandyfactory and bruceholecheck. A Special case are the scans from Cannon.org.uk, they don’t use a watermark per se, but often add a white banner at the bottom with the logo and link, which is not part of the original cover. I could just cut it off, but I wouldn’t want to do that without permission from that site. (btw. Lemon Popsicle (Hokushin Video) has made it to the database with that banner) Note: I’m not taking the scans from these blogs, but the ones submitted to VHS Wasteland. Also, RaroVHS has given permission to use the scans from his blog, but has been using his own watermark for quite some time. |

Personally I think we shouldn't use watermarked scans. I know some members have posted scans from other websites like Cannon.org.uk (that one for instance ) without their permission or without mentioning it and I think we should remove them!
