Résumé (jaquette) : Veteran actors Reginald Owen (Mrs. Miniver) and Barry Fitzgerald (1944 Best Supporting Actor Oscar winner for Going My Way) join Johnny Weismuller and Maureen O'Sullivan in one of the best films of the Tarzan series. When Boy (Johnny Sheffield) decides to pursue the civilised world Jane (O'Sullivan) has told him about, he is captured by the Ubardi tribe, who believe he is the source of their plague. Boy is rescued by Professor Elliot (Owen), leader of a scientific expedition that has come to the jungle in search of gold. When Tarzan learns of the group's motive for being in the jungle, he becomes angry and confronts them. He is shot, and Jane and Boy are taken hostage forcing Tarzan to give up his gold for their safe return. The underwater swimming sequences were filmed on location in Florida, and M.G.M built a huge river and jungle that covered eighty acres, making Tarzan's Secret Treasure one of the most ambitious and exciting adventures ever!
